CCBC’S PAST EVENTS

HE Wei, the recently appointed Consul General of the PRC in Toronto, was the honoured guest speaker at a luncheon in Toronto. Mr. HE discussed the Canada-China business relationship and how businesses in Ontario can continue moving forward with their China strategies.

CCBC held a luncheon to update members on the leadership transitions announced at the 19th National Congress
of the Communist Party of China. Our Executive Director, Sarah Kutulakos, discussed who’s in, who’s out, and how these changes can affect Canadian businesses in China. Mr. Guy St-Jacques, former Ambassador of Canada to China, shared his perspectives on the implications for Canada as a result of these decisions and policies.

CCBC welcomed TONG Xiaoling, the newly appointed Consul-General of the PRC in Vancouver, at a networking event. Ms. TONG offered her thoughts on the BC-China business relationship. Also at the event was Graham Shantz, CCBC’s President, who gave an update on CCBC’s upcoming activities.

The Government of Alberta’s Alberta Investment Mission to China, that was jointly organized by CCBC’s Prairies and Beijing Chapters, was attended by almost 150 local Chinese guests and investors.

CCBC’s Chamber of Commerce in Beijing hosted the annual Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner at the Fairmont Beijing and celebrated a traditional meal with over 50 local members and friends.

The Honourable Stephen McNeil, premier of Nova Scotia, introduced current economic trends in Nova Scotia, and the opportunities within this Atlantic Province at a CCBC Business Gala in Shanghai, China

CCBC held a breakfast networking session in Calgary, to inform members and guests about the many opportunities available at the 122nd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, in Guangzhou, China, from October 15 to November 4, 2017
