Exploring Greater Bay Area Business Opportunities (Montreal) Event Recap & Photos
The Canada China Business Council (CCBC) was pleased to host an exclusive event on September 16, 2025, in Montreal, titled “Exploring Greater Bay Area Business Opportunities,” which focused on the dynamic potential of the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The program opened with remarks from Claire Zhang, Director, CCBC Quebec Chapter, and Martin Lavigne, Managing Director, Wealth Investment Advisory, Quebec at Scotia Wealth Management. This was followed by a keynote address from Callan Anderson, CEO of Hong Kong Corporate Services Group (HKCSG) and Member of the HKCBA National Advisory Board and Ottawa Board of Directors. We were grateful to have Mr. Anderson continue to share valuable insights on the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong’s economic landscape in Montreal, where he had also previously joined us as guest speaker for Unlocking Greater Bay Area Business Opportunities in Toronto.
A panel discussion then featured:
- The Hon. Martin Cauchon, c.p., Ad.E., Counsel at DS Lawyers, Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board of CCBC, who provided insights into the CCBC AGM and CIIE.
- Cindy Ho, Partner at DS Lawyers, Immediate Past Chair of HKCBA National and Co-President of HKCBA Montreal, Honorary Secretary of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide, who shared perspectives on the Hong Kong Forum.
- Drew Dorweiler, FCPA, FCA, CBV, FRICS, Managing Director and Valuation Practice Leader at Dartmouth Partners Limited, Co-President of HKCBA Montreal, who addressed both the Hong Kong Forum and AFF.
- Eric Cardinal, VP, M&A Club, Member of HKCBA Montreal Board of Directors, who spoke about the Asian Financial Forum.
- Yujing Liu, Global Vice President of Commercial Excellence at Solmax, who highlighted Solmax’s business experience in the GBA.
The event highlighted the GBA’s role as a strategic region for Canadian enterprises seeking to diversify, innovate, and expand in Asia. Special thanks to Scotia Wealth Management and the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association (HKCBA) Montreal Chapter for their valued support in making this event a success.
