Emerging from China’s recent “Two Meetings” are a number of policies to encourage investment in China and liberalize trade. On July 15, Ambassador CONG Peiwu spoke about how China’s current policies impact economic opportunity for bilateral business in an exclusive virtual event for the Canada-China business community. A main address took place at 11:00 am EST via Zoom Webinar to all five Canadian chapters simultaneously, followed by 30-minute chapter breakouts, allowing for roundtable discussion with Ambassador CONG Peiwu:

• Atlantic: 12:45 pm – 1:15 pm AT
• Quebec: 1:45 pm – 2:15 pm EST
• Ontario: 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm EST
• Prairies: 1:15 pm – 1:45 pm MT
• BC: 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm PT

Ambassador CONG Peiwu highlighted business opportunities for foreign investors as China moves from its 13th to 14th Five-Year-Plan. According to the 2019-2020 Business Impact Survey, Canadian businesses that operate in China are more likely to succeed in sectors that align with China’s development priorities.

Tickets were $25+HST for CCBC members in good standing; $40+HST for non-members.
