CCBC 2023 Indigenous Trade Mission to China
CCBC 2023 Indigenous Trade Mission to China
In October 2023, CCBC hosted the 2023 Indigenous Trade Mission to China, with Lotta Ygartua of the BC Chapter taking the lead. Congratulations to our 11 delegates from coast to coast, representing Indigenous businesses and organizations, who completed six hours of specialized pre-Mission training seminars on Chinese business culture, a China market overview, and IP, trademarks, and legal protection. The delegates then travelled to China where they participated in a three-day program, engaging in high-level interactions and roundtables with executives in the Canada-China business space, that coincided with CCBC’s 45th AGM & Business Forum. The Mission’s aim was to build connections and partnerships that will empower the delegates to tap into export markets and secure sources of investment to facilitate exports. We’d like to express our gratitude to Mission Co-Chair Grand Chief Edward John, who was a panelist at the Business Forum; Mission Advisors Wei SHAO from Dentons and Paul Blom from BC First Nations Energy and Mining Council; and Lead Sponsor Power Corporation of Canada. CCBC thanks CanExport Associations for partial funding supporting for this program.
