On October 30, 2024, CCBC’s Quebec Chapter hosted an exclusive roundtable in Montreal with Ambassador of China to Canada, H.E. WANG Di, for Quebec Chapter members. This high-profile event brought together members from various sectors, including banking, insurance and wealth management, aerospace, manufacturing, education, and logistics.

CCBC’s Chairman Olivier Desmarais, President Graham Shantz, and Vice-Chair Hon. Martin Cauchon were all in attendance. The Ambassador emphasized that China’s commitment to building a higher-level open economic system will create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation across diverse sectors between China and Canada. He also noted that the newly announced increase in flights between Canada and China marks a significant step in strengthening people-to-people connections and enhancing business relations between the two nations. Additionally, the Ambassador acknowledged CCBC’s ongoing efforts in actively promoting exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Canadian businesses.
