CCBC Western Canada Member Spotlight – Sungiven Foods

CCBC is thrilled to launch a new Western Canada Member Spotlight series, designed to build community and networking opportunities for members in British Columbia and the Prairies, as well as highlight member achievements. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about a featured member, share info about their business, and engage with other CCBC members in the Canada-China business community. This series is open to CCBC members only.

 

On February 28, CCBC members joined Western Canada Regional Director Lotta Ygartua and our featured member Sungiven Foods as we kicked off this interactive series. Yajing (ChiChi) WANG, VP of Communications and External Affairs, Sungiven Foods, shared how the Chinese brand expanded abroad, and successfully localized and built a relevant brand for the Canadian market.

About the speaker:

 

Yajing (ChiChi) WANG
VP of Communications and External Affairs
Sungiven Foods

 

Working extensively in high-level intergovernmental relations and entrepreneurship for more than 15 years, ChiChi WANG is an insightful strategic thinker, comfortable in the realms of business, philanthropy, and politics.

 

In her work with Earnscliffe Strategy Group she advises C-suite executives on key strategies and tactics related to market entry, product diversification, government relations and communications. As the Founder and CEO of the Sageus Collective, Ms. Wang established the Collective’s four divisions which focus on cross-cultural and social impact, through brand strategy and digital marketing, partnerships with creators, and content creation and production. Under Ms. Wang’s leadership, Sageus has served as a cultural bridge, linking Chinese and North American brands to new audiences in each region.

 

Ms. Wang currently works with Sungiven Foods as the Vice President of Communications and External Affairs. She plays a key role in managing a network of strategic partnerships and alliances in support of Sungiven’s key priorities including fostering advocacy for food safety research, product ideas, multi-cultural community outreach and social impact programs

 

Ms. Wang is a proven campaigner on women’s empowerment and positive social change and has spoken at TEDx, produced her own talk show, published interviews profiling accomplished leaders, and worked on global initiatives with UN Women, UN Development Programme and UN Environment Programme.

 

She is a passionate advocate for breaking down cultural, social, and inter-generational barriers, and is committed to building bridges between China, North America, and beyond. Ms. Wang currently sits on the boards of:

 

    • Centre A: Vancouver International Centre for Contemporary Asian Art
    • The Kay Meek Arts Centre
    • Enhance West Vancouver

With a degree in Commerce and Visual Arts through both the University of British Columbia and Emily Carr University, Ms. Wang has a unique perspective that combines the problem-solving skills of business with the design sensitivity of the art world.
