On May 23, 2023, CCBC, China-Australia Chamber of Commerce (AustCham China), and China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) co-hosted a private dinner in Beijing, titled “In Conversation with Dominic Barton,” at the China World Summit Wing Hotel. Over 80 members and invited guests from across the Canadian, Australian and British business communities attended the event. Dominic Barton has been the Chair of Rio Tinto since May 2022. He was the Global Managing Partner at McKinsey & Company and served as Canada’s Ambassador to China, as well as the Chair of Canada’s Advisory Council for Economic Growth. In a fireside chat with Vaughn Barber, Chair of AustCham China, Dominic covered a wide spectrum of topics, including China’s relationship with the West, the future of the critical minerals market, climate change and decarbonization, as well as investment opportunities and risks in China.
