Canton Fair: A Business Opportunity for Alberta Businesses
LU Xu, Consul General of the PRC in Calgary, gave the opening remarks at a CCBC informational breakfast session on the Canton Fair, in Edmonton on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
The 125th Canton Fair is China’s premier trade event and is focused on the international market. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and is organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre. The Fair will exhibit over 150,000 categories of products, both from China and overseas, and approximately 24,000 enterprises will participate in each session held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.
The session focused on the opportunities available to Alberta businesses at the upcoming Fair in Guangzhou, China, which runs from April 15 to May 5, 2019. The long-running Fair was established to assist companies in the international market to enhance their China strategy by importing to and/or exporting from China.
The session included a draw for two attendees to win an airline ticket each on China Southern Airlines, a partner with the Canton Fair, from Vancouver to Guangzhou, to attend the Fair.
