CCBC completed the third set of the 2019 Canada-China Business Development Roadshow in Xi’an on December 11 and in Chengdu on December 13. Over 200 local Chinese investors and entrepreneurs attended the forums across the two cities, where they were presented a showcase on the national investment landscape and heard from 10 different Canadian companies on opportunities for purchasing, investing, and establishing strategic partnerships. Sectors represented included medical devices, consumer goods, agri-food, health & senior care, and clean technology. Via the CanExport-Associations program, Canadian exporters of products and services are eligible to receive funding for Canadian staff to travel to these roadshows and receive matchmaking services to build sales channels in these growing cities. 

The Roadshow is designed to connect Canadian businesses with potential channel partners and investors in second- and third-tier cities, where China’s economic growth is being driven. These half-day seminars presented in partnership with the Canadian Embassy, regional Consulates General, trade offices, provincial representatives and Destination Canada. For Canadian exporters, travel and accommodation funding, up to 75%, were available through the Global Opportunities for Associations (GOA) for qualified companies*.
