On December 1, 2025, the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) was honoured to welcome Mr. REN Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), alongside senior CCPIT executives and a delegation of Chinese business leaders during their visit to Toronto. The program opened with a high-level roundtable between CCBC leadership, senior executives from major member companies, Mr. REN Hongbin, and the accompanying delegation. The dialogue reflected the renewed momentum in Canada–China relations following recent constructive engagements between Canadian and Chinese leaders, including the meeting between Prime Minister Carney and President Xi Jinping. Following the roundtable, CCBC and CCPIT co-hosted the Canada–China Forum on Trade and Investment Cooperation, convening senior business leaders, investors, and policymakers for a forward-looking discussion on advancing bilateral trade and exploring new areas of economic collaboration. The program featured remarks from Bijan Ahmadi, Executive Director & COO, CCBC; REN Hongbin, Chairman, CCPIT; LUO Weidong, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto; Giles Gherson, President & CEO, Toronto Region Board of Trade; and DENG Jun, President of the Canada China Chamber of Commerce and Board Director of the Canada China Business Council.
