Executives from major Canadian enterprises met with senior officials of the Shanghai Municipal Government, including Hua Yuan, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee; Lu Shan, Vice Mayor of Shanghai; and Zhu Min, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, together with leading officials from relevant municipal departments, at a business roundtable held in Shanghai on the afternoon of January 29, 2026. Tracy Diehl, Consul General of Canada in Shanghai, also attended the event.

The two sides engaged in full and friendly government–business exchanges, discussing the business environment for development in Shanghai and relevant economic cooperation opportunities.
