Business Luncheon with LU Shaye, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, and John Tory, Mayor of Toronto

LU Shaye, the newly-appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, was the keynote speaker and John Tory, Mayor of Toronto, was the guest speaker at a CCBC business luncheon on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

 

Mr. LU discussed China’s commitment to promoting a stronger bilateral relationship with Canada. He also explained the latest developments in China-Canada relations and elaborate on China’s plans to welcome Canadian businesses.

 

Mr. Tory provided an update on the City’s progress regarding its developments in bilateral trade and investment, which resulted from his business mission to China last year. He led a delegation of Toronto business and academic leaders to five Chinese cities where they met with municipal and business officials to promote Toronto’s expertise in urban infrastructure and clean technology as well as its financial services and education sectors.
