On September 9, 2026, André Desmarais, Honorary Chair of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC), met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Vice Premier He and Mr. Desmarais discussed opportunities for Canadian companies arising from China’s continued economic development, as well as the role CCBC can play in serving as a bridge between the business communities of Canada and China and supporting greater trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Desmarais expressed the Canadian business community’s confidence in China’s economic prospects and reaffirmed CCBC’s commitment to the sound and steady development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
