On June 29, 2026, the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) welcomed a visiting delegation from China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) to Ottawa for an exclusive roundtable discussion with CCBC members. The roundtable provided an opportunity to exchange views on bilateral trade, digital commerce, and Canada–China e-commerce cooperation.
The MOFCOM delegation was led by Ms. HUANG Ling, Deputy Director General of the Department of E-commerce, and included Mr. ZHANG Jiale, Director, International Cooperation Division, and Mr. LI Wangyuan, Senior Advisor, International Cooperation Division.
The program featured remarks from the MOFCOM delegation and participating CCBC members, followed by a roundtable discussion on Canada–China e-commerce cooperation. During the session, CCBC members introduced their organizations and exchanged views on opportunities and challenges affecting bilateral commercial engagement. Deputy Director General Huang also presented an overview of China’s e-commerce sector, including recent developments in online retail, cross-border e-commerce, and areas where greater bilateral cooperation could be explored, including market access, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and future business exchanges.
The event was also attended by Minister-Counsellor XU Qingjun of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Canada, who delivered remarks during the roundtable.
CCBC extends its appreciation to the MOFCOM delegation, Minister-Counsellor Xu Qingjun, and all CCBC members who participated in the discussion. We also thank BLG for generously serving as the venue host for the event.
Thank you to our venue host:
