My goal in leading this trip was to learn more about the evolution of this mega-region (which compares itself to city-regions like Tokyo and New York City) and how its policies can benefit companies, especially in financial services or technology sectors. We wanted to observe how Canadian companies are navigating this market and how Chinese companies based here are innovating and globalizing. This longstanding exhibition has been working hard to modernize and stay relevant as China\u2019s role in sourcing has changed, and also includes imports to China. More importantly, our delegates found that Canton Fair officials are very supportive in helping them find the right sourcing partners in the region. We are looking forward to hosting CHU Shijia, Chairman and President, China Foreign Trade Centre, Ltd., the organizer of Canton Fair, on May 24 in Toronto \u2013 members are encouraged to join this <a href=\"https:\/\/ccbc.com\/event\/discover-endless-business-opportunities-china-import-and-export-fair-canton-fair-promotion-conference-in-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">session<\/a>, even if their interest in China does not involve sourcing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=&#8221;73798,73795,73902&#8243; disabled_on=&#8221;off|off|off&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Canton Fair lunch Gallery&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.3&#8243; module_alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; pagination_font_size_tablet=&#8221;51&#8243; pagination_line_height_tablet=&#8221;2&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_gallery][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;off|off|off&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.3&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li>A visit to CCBC member FountainVest Partners in Hong Kong (CEO Frank Tang was a favourite speaker at last year\u2019s AGM), which is part of a consortium that owns Canadian outerwear company Arc\u2019teryx. The growth of Arc\u2019teryx in China following that acquisition has been spectacular.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-73746 aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/ccbc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Member-Outreach-GBA-April-2024-Fountainvest-group-sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"257\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A mindblowing visit to Shenzhen Grandsun Electronics, whose net-zero factory is built in and around a forest and whose office is dominated by plants, making it a very appealing environment to work. Grandsun, which has a leading patent portfolio in the audio equipment industry, makes the brand Cleer. In addition to their net-zero facility, the company was preparing for the April 22 Earth Day <a href=\"http:\/\/en.ce.cn\/main\/latest\/202404\/23\/t20240423_38980279.shtml\">launch<\/a> of the world&#8217;s first zero-carbon open-ear earbuds. Their new line achieved its carbon neutrality certificate through the use of recyclable materials, green electricity and equipment that consumes less power.
