This is a dynamic position, with diverse responsibilities, including member service management and recruitment, event management, government relations, and determining how CCBC can develop and adapt its services to the needs of prairies-based companies working with China and for Chinese companies investing or conducting business in the region. Our Prairies headquarters is based in Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director, Prairies Chapter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and recruit prospective members<\/li>\n<li>Liaise regularly with and render service to members; maintain positive relationships with them to help ensure membership retention<\/li>\n<li>Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality CCBC events<\/li>\n<li>Create and communicate sponsorship packages and benefits<\/li>\n<li>Promote the awareness of CCBC and its services throughout the Prairies region<\/li>\n<li>Prepare annual budget and business plan. Ensure all activities are within agreed budgetary parameters<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with \u00a0the Prairies Chapter Advisory Board<\/li>\n<li>Monitor important developments in local politics (provincial and municipal)<\/li>\n<li>File status reports and update member databases<\/li>\n<li>Administer Calgary office accounts and other office details<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Halifax regarding Council\u2019s activities and initiatives, as well as incoming and outgoing missions when required<\/li>\n<li>As assigned, assist with planning and implementation of other CCBC-related activities, regardless of location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree with a major in business, international relations preferred<\/li>\n<li>Travel and work experience in China. Deep understanding of Canadian and Chinese cultures, history, and Canada-China relations desired<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the business community in the prairies<\/li>\n<li>Excellent event management skills, with a minimum of three years of experience<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in spoken and written English. Mandarin Chinese and\/or French skills a plus, but not required<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and networking abilities<\/li>\n<li>Excellent relationship-building skills<\/li>\n<li>Able to exercise excellent and sound judgment, perform complex duties simultaneously, and handle confidential matters with tact and discretion<\/li>\n<li>Able to research information relevant to the needs of our members, as well as identify potential member companies based on their opportunity to succeed in China<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Great team player<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. <strong>All applications must be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:hr@ccbc.com\">HR[at]ccbc.com<\/a> by August 6, 2019<\/strong>.
