SUMMARY:CCBC 2023 Women in Business China Mission
DESCRIPTION:The CCBC Women in Business China Mission is designed to serve the interests of Canadian women business leaders and/or representatives of women-led companies with a product or service to sell to China. China is the world’s largest and most dynamic consumer market\, with a strong appreciation of high-quality Canadian products. Women-led businesses are under-represented in Canada-China trade\, and this Mission is designed to give women-led businesses the resources\, tools\, and connections to succeed in the China market. \nThis October\, CCBC will lead up to 12 delegates who are representatives of women-led businesses on a trade mission to Beijing\, with the objective of engaging China connections to support exports. \nDoing business in China successfully requires diligent cultivation of relationships that can be difficult from afar. After years of COVID restrictions\, Canada-China travel has resumed\, and it is an important moment to ramp up China market business development. The five-day Mission in Beijing will offer a series of activities\, curated meetings\, and business interactions to help delegates enhance their knowledge of business in China\, broaden their in-market networks\, and achieve their business goals. \nFor more information\, please visit our website. \nCCBC thanks CanExport Associations for partial funding support for this program.

SUMMARY:CCBC 2023 Indigenous Trade Mission to China
DESCRIPTION:As Indigenous businesses\, development corporations and business organizations pursue growth and build infrastructure\, China’s growing market poses unique opportunities. China is the world’s largest and most dynamic consumer market\, with a strong appreciation of high-quality Canadian consumer products. As the world’s second-largest economy\, China’s strong demand for commodities and natural resources presents important export opportunities for Canadian and Indigenous organizations. \nThis October\, CCBC will lead a group of First Nations\, Inuit and Métis (hereinafter referred to as “Indigenous”) entrepreneurs\, economic development executives\, and Indigenous leaders on a trade mission to Beijing\, China\, to build connections and partnerships that help delegates develop export markets and sources of investment to facilitate exports. \nDoing business with China successfully requires diligent cultivation of relationships that can be difficult from afar. Finally\, after years of COVID restrictions\, Canada-China travel has resumed\, and it is an important moment to ramp up China-market business development. The Mission will offer a series of activities\, curated meetings\, and business interactions to help delegates enhance their knowledge of business in China\, broaden their in-market networks\, and achieve their business goals. The five-day mission program will encompass CCBC’s AGM as well as unique delegation-specific visits\, meetings\, and activities in Beijing. \nFor more information\, please visit our website. \nCCBC thanks CanExport Associations for partial funding support for this program.

SUMMARY:CCBC 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China
DESCRIPTION:International students from mainland China and Hong Kong amounted to 169\,905\, or 26.2% of the international student population in Canada in 2019 based on Immigration\, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data. Proportionally\, this translates to Chinese student spending of about $5.72 billion in Canada in 2019\, supporting over 57\,000 jobs. In other words\, education services were Canada’s largest export to China in 2019. \nAfter three years of pandemic closure\, China reopened its borders in early 2023 and many Chinese students are eager to leap back into their ways of international travel and study. Canada has remained a top destination for Chinese students; however\, competition in the global education market is fierce and with the residual effects of the COVID-19 pandemic\, tense Canada-China relations\, and global economic slowdown\, Canadian educational institutions must go there to Rediscover\, Reconnect and Rebuild their competitive edge. \nWith support of the Embassy of Canada to China\, co-hosted by the Bank of China (Canada) and Cape Breton University\, CCBC is pleased to organize the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China on October 30-31\, 2023\, comprised of participants from Canadian universities\, colleges\, high schools\, language centres\, and educational service companies to have face-to-face meetings with Canadian Trade Commissioners responsible for education in China\, IRCC officials in China\, Chinese officials from the affiliated organizations of the Ministry of Education\, and their Chinese counterparts from universities\, colleges\, high schools and education service companies. \nIn addition\, this two-day Mission will encompass CCBC’s 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 31 in Beijing\, which provides excellent networking opportunities with senior management of Canadian and Chinese business communities\, including those from the education sector. Furthermore\, the 2023 China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE) will be held on October 26-28 and the China International Import Expo (CIIE) will start on November 5; Canadian delegates/educators who plan fall travel can include the CCBC AGM\, the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China\, CEE & CACIE\, and CIIE as part of a trip to China and/or Asia. \nFor more information\, please visit our webpage.
