He has been the CCPIT Chairman since January 2022.  \n  \n \nLUO Weidong\nConsul General\nChinese Consulate General in Toronto \nMr. LUO Weidong was born in December 1967 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. \nHe began his career in 1990 in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation\, which is now the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. \nHe assumed his role as Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto in September 2023. \n  \n \nDr. DENG Jun\nPresident & CEO\nBank of China (Canada)\nPrincipal Officer\nBank of China Toronto Branch\nBoard Director\nCanada China Business Council\n \nDr. DENG Jun\, President and CEO of Bank of China (Canada) and Principal Officer of Bank of China Toronto Branch\, holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Wuhan University and has played an integral role in the Bank of China Group since 1990. His journey within the Bank includes key positions that underscore his expertise. \nIn 2001\, he served as General Manager of the Bank of China Wuhan ETD Branch\, contributing significantly to the Bank’s growth. In 2006\, he took on the role of Deputy Managing Director at Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Auto Finance Company Ltd.\, a joint venture between Bank of China Group Insurance Company Ltd.\, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile Company Ltd.\, and Banque PSA Finance. \nIn 2009\, Dr. Deng was appointed Assistant General Manager at the Bank of China Limited Head Office Corporate Banking Group and in 2012\, he became Country Head of Bank of China Limited – Manila Branch\, showcasing his versatility on the international stage. Since October of the same year\, he has been fulfilling his current roles\, leading as President and CEO of Bank of China (Canada) and Principal Officer of Bank of China Toronto Branch. \n  \n \nLIN Shunjie\nPresident\nChina International Exhibition Center Group Limited (CIEC)\nChairman\nExhibition Commission of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) \nMr. Lin Shunjie has served as Chairman of the China International Exhibition Center Group Limited (CIEC) since 2019 and concurrently as Chairman of the board and chairman of the Exhibition Commission of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC). With over two decades of experience at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and CCOIC\, Mr. Lin has played a key role in promoting international trade cooperation and developing China’s exhibition and investment promotion sector. He previously held senior positions with the CCPIT’s Trade and Investment Promotion Department and the Administrative Committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone. Mr. Lin holds a Master’s degree from Peking University and the National Academy of Governance and a Bachelor’s degree from the Foreign Affairs College.  \n  \n\nBijan Ahmadi\nExecutive Director & COO\nCanada China Business Council \nBijan Ahmadi serves as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC)\, overseeing the operations and activities of the Council across its seven chapters in Canada and China. \nBefore joining CCBC\, he co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy (IPD) from 2018 to 2024. IPD is a non-partisan think tank operating in Canada and the United States\, dedicated to fostering constructive engagement and interest-based thinking in international affairs. \nDuring his tenure at IPD\, Mr. Ahmadi launched the organization’s Asia research program in 2020 and its flagship annual conference\, the Indo-Pacific Strategy Forum (IPSF)\, in Ottawa in 2021. Today\, IPSF is recognized as Canada’s premier conference on the country’s engagement in the Indo-Pacific region. He was also the co-editor of Canada-China Brief\, a biweekly policy newsletter providing the latest developments and expert insights on political and economic relations between Ottawa and Beijing. \nIn his work on China\, Mr. Ahmadi has advised large corporations and SMEs on navigating Canada-China trade\, policy\, and regulatory developments. He has also spearheaded the publication of numerous research reports on China and Canada-China relations and led Track 2 diplomacy initiatives in collaboration with Chinese and American research institutions. \nMr. Ahmadi holds a Master’s degree in Global Diplomacy from SOAS University of London and a Master of Applied Science from the University of Toronto. Before founding IPD\, Mr. Ahmadi worked in strategy and management roles in the financial services and real estate sectors\, where he honed his skills in organizational leadership and operational planning. He also served on the executive boards of several Canadian non-profits and NGOs\, including the Toronto branch of the Canadian International Council. \n  \n \nJack Yu\nPartner; Co-Leader\, China Practice Group\nFasken\nBoard Director\nCanada China Business Council\n \nJack Yu (于华洲) is an experienced business lawyer\, with a focus on private mergers & acquisition and cross-border transactions. Mr. Yu has advised clients on over several billion dollars of M&A\, private equity\, corporate reorganization\, and complex commercial transactions\, spanning across multiple industries and sectors. \nAs Co-Leader of the firm’s China Practice Group\, Mr. Yu regularly travels to China and is actively involved in the Asian legal community in Canada. He is often relied on by Chinese clients both from overseas and in Canada for sophisticated transactions and day-to-day legal issues. Mr. Yu also has experience in the foreign investments review process in Canada. \nPrior to attending law school\, Mr. Yu earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and philosophy from the University of Toronto.
