All conference delegates will be automatically registered for the Gala Dinner\, which is also open to registered guests not attending either CIAC2024 conference. The annual CIAC: Gala Dinner is an opportunity for Canada-connected people\, organizations\, and institutions from across Asia to convene\, build networks\, and celebrate all things Canada-in-Asia. \nThese dual events build upon the momentum established by the Canada-in-Asia Conference 2023 (CIAC2023)\, established by APF Canada and Universities Canada to catalyze a new and transformative phase of Canada-Asia engagement. CIAC2023\, held in Singapore over three days in February 2023\, brought together more than 530 Canada-connected individuals\, businesses\, and institutions\, and the enthusiasm for this concept has led to a commitment by APF Canada – supported by Universities Canada – to convene specialized Conferences on topics of mutual importance to Canada and Asia every second year\, starting in 2024. \nAgri-food and Climate Solutions have been selected as our first topics of focus due to the pressing need for collaboration to tackle food security and climate security globally – but especially in Asia – and the complementary strengths that Canada and Asia can bring to the table in addressing complex challenges in the agriculture & agri-food and climate spaces. \nEach event is anticipated to attract approximately 250 attendees\, with a unique mix of private\, public\, and civil society sector representatives in attendance. These conferences offer an innovative platform for leaders to collaborate across borders and oceans\, sectors\, and disciplines. \nWe hope you’ll be able to join us. \nCIAC2024: Agri-food \n\n\n\nCIAC2024: Agri-food will take place February 26-27\, 2024\, in Singapore. It will convene leaders from the private sector\, governments\, universities\, and other institutions from across Asia and Canada in agri- food and related sectors for two days of networking and inter-disciplinary discussion on some of the most pressing issues in the Canada-Asia agri-food space. As well as plentiful networking time throughout the event\, there will be a reception on February 26\, and a Gala Dinner (open to attendees of both conferences\, as well as the general public) on February 27. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAUDIENCE \n\n\n\n\n\n\nApprox. 250 private sector\, public sector\, and academic sector leaders engaged in trade\, investment\, innovation\, product development\, research\, policy development\, and funding of agri-food initiatives across Canada and Asia. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOBJECTIVES \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo build and extend high-value networks in the Canada-Asia agri-food ecosystem;\nTo expose Canadian agri-food leaders to the experience\, expertise\, and perspectives ofcounterparts from across Asia\, and vice versa;\nTo demonstrate Canadian excellence in agriculture & agri-food;\nTo catalyze connections among Canadian and Asian research & development anduniversity stakeholders in agriculture & agri-food\, and to facilitate linkages with the private and public sectors. It is anticipated that the facilitation of stronger networks – as outlined above – will lead to increased Canada-Asia trade and investment\, research collaboration\, innovation\, and institutional connectivity.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRIORITY TOPICS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFood security priorities in Asia\nCanadian contributions to food security across Asia\nPromoting sustainability in agriculture & agri-food\, including technologies\, management\,and finance\nFood safety\nOne Health and agri-food system transformation\nOpportunities for collaboration in agtech\, biotech\, water tech\, and agricultural science.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCIAC2024: Climate Solutions\nCIAC2024: Climate Solutions will be held in Singapore on February 28-29\, 2024\, immediately following its counterpart\, CIAC2024: Agri-food. CIAC2024: Climate Solutions will convene Asia-based and Canada- based private sector\, government\, university\, and other leaders to connect and learn from each other’s priorities and experiences in climate policy\, climate technologies\, climate research\, and climate finance. SUMMARY:CCBC 45th AGM and Business Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Canada-China business community is at a critical juncture\, where challenges and opportunities intersect within a recovering Chinese economy\, which is expected to drive a significant upturn in economic growth. Increasing middle-class consumption for quality goods and rising demand for Canadian capabilities in China present a promising landscape for post-pandemic growth. While certain areas continue to pose difficulties for Canada-China cooperation\, there are also platforms that facilitate progress towards shared goals. \nJoin us in Beijing for CCBC’s 45th AGM & Business Forum\, as we restart\, reconnect\, and review Canada’s position in China’s dynamic market. China has experienced substantial transformations in recent years\, further accelerated by the challenges posed by COVID-19. As travel to China resumes\, competitive companies need to understand recent changes\, realistically assess the marketplace\, and formulate effective strategies for the future. \nNow is the time to advocate for Canada’s presence in the China market. With an increasing number of businesses venturing into China\, Canadians must remain committed to raising our national flag higher\, amplifying the visibility of Canadian products\, and reinforcing the recognition of the distinctive Canadian brand. Through this convergence in Beijing\, spanning multiple sectors\, we can call attention to Canada and ensure that after three years of restricted travel\, Chinese consumers and stakeholders are reminded of the benefits Canada can bring. \nFor details\, please visit ccbcagm.com/en.

Canada has remained a top destination for Chinese students; however\, competition in the global education market is fierce and with the residual effects of the COVID-19 pandemic\, tense Canada-China relations\, and global economic slowdown\, Canadian educational institutions must go there to Rediscover\, Reconnect and Rebuild their competitive edge. \nWith support of the Embassy of Canada to China\, co-hosted by the Bank of China (Canada) and Cape Breton University\, CCBC is pleased to organize the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China on October 30-31\, 2023\, comprised of participants from Canadian universities\, colleges\, high schools\, language centres\, and educational service companies to have face-to-face meetings with Canadian Trade Commissioners responsible for education in China\, IRCC officials in China\, Chinese officials from the affiliated organizations of the Ministry of Education\, and their Chinese counterparts from universities\, colleges\, high schools and education service companies. \nIn addition\, this two-day Mission will encompass CCBC’s 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 31 in Beijing\, which provides excellent networking opportunities with senior management of Canadian and Chinese business communities\, including those from the education sector. Furthermore\, the 2023 China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE) will be held on October 26-28 and the China International Import Expo (CIIE) will start on November 5; Canadian delegates/educators who plan fall travel can include the CCBC AGM\, the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China\, CEE & CACIE\, and CIIE as part of a trip to China and/or Asia. \nFor more information\, please visit our webpage.

SUMMARY:CCBC 2023 Indigenous Trade Mission to China
DESCRIPTION:As Indigenous businesses\, development corporations and business organizations pursue growth and build infrastructure\, China’s growing market poses unique opportunities. China is the world’s largest and most dynamic consumer market\, with a strong appreciation of high-quality Canadian consumer products. As the world’s second-largest economy\, China’s strong demand for commodities and natural resources presents important export opportunities for Canadian and Indigenous organizations. \nThis October\, CCBC will lead a group of First Nations\, Inuit and Métis (hereinafter referred to as “Indigenous”) entrepreneurs\, economic development executives\, and Indigenous leaders on a trade mission to Beijing\, China\, to build connections and partnerships that help delegates develop export markets and sources of investment to facilitate exports. \nDoing business with China successfully requires diligent cultivation of relationships that can be difficult from afar. Finally\, after years of COVID restrictions\, Canada-China travel has resumed\, and it is an important moment to ramp up China-market business development. The Mission will offer a series of activities\, curated meetings\, and business interactions to help delegates enhance their knowledge of business in China\, broaden their in-market networks\, and achieve their business goals. The five-day mission program will encompass CCBC’s AGM as well as unique delegation-specific visits\, meetings\, and activities in Beijing. \nFor more information\, please visit our website. \nCCBC thanks CanExport Associations for partial funding support for this program.
